Some days are diamonds some days are pearls...
I'd be happy with a cubic zirconium.

Do to financial circumstances I have been sharing a bedroom with my youngest.
I sleep on a day bed and she sleeps on the trundle.
For weeks I've been complaining that I just can not get comfortable on the bed and I thought it was because the mattress was shot.

Well, this morning I crawled under the bed to clean and I saw that two of the supports holding the mattress in place have snapped due to, I am sure, the cirque du kiddies that performs daily at 7:00 and 9:00.

I can't afford to buy a bed, new or used, and the only way to fix the supports is to weld them back onto the bed and I don't know anyone who makes house calls. If I tell the kids' father he'll just yell and tell them that they ruin everything that ever comes into the house which solves nothing. If I don't fix the bed I'll never get a good night's sleep.

Right now the only solution is to duck tape the supports to the bed and have the little one sleep on it while I take the trundle which squeaks horribly every time I turn and twist which I do often.

Just one day that is gem like would be nice.

If I had a magic lamp and could get just the one lifetime wish fulfilled I'd use it up to make you and your girls comfortable for the rest of your lives.

Big hugs for a special lady!

I once had a similar problem and solved it, more or less, but putting bricks under the bed in stacks up to the point where they acted as support. I think I had to use a shim or something for the last one half inch.

I wish I could help.

You taught me a new word today - trundle! I never knew what the name of the other part of the day bed was called. Try hsw's suggestion as I was going to say the same.

Believe me when I say I understand the inability to be comfortable and get a good nights sleep, and how it can affect your whole outlook. Personally i haven't hatd the luxury in weeks either. I hope switching with the little one helps

If you are going with gaff tape to fix the trundle then if its possible maybe use a small piece of wood like a splint to give it some support. Your friendly neighborhood scene shop should have some scrap just hanging around. Just a thought.

Does your town have some sort of freecycle program? People are always getting rid of old beds, aren't they?
