A student at my child's school is being treated for MSRA, the drug resistant staph infection.
The parents of the children found out through a newspaper article on page 2 of the local paper.
No notification has been sent home yet.
I'm at my wits end.
She's already at school.
Do I go and get her and wait until they disinfect the entire school?
I'm angry and pissed off at this "Blue Ribbon" school.

Yikes!
I think at the very least you call the school and get more info.
MRSA isn't like a plague or Ebola, so try not to be too concerned. I've looked it up for you:
'MRSA will not normally cause an infection in a healthy person. Although it is possible for those outside hospital to become infected, MRSA infections are most common in people who are already in hospital. Those in hospital are more likely to develop MRSA infections because they often have an entry point for the bacteria to get into their body, such as a surgical wound, a catheter, or an intravenous tube.
Those who are most at risk of MRSA include those who:
* have a weakened immune system, such as the elderly, newborn babies, or those with a long-term health condition such as diabetes, cancer or HIV/AIDS,
* have an open wound,
* have a catheter (a plastic tube inserted into the body to drain fluid) or an intravenous drip,
* have a burn or cut on their skin,
* have a severe skin condition such as leg ulcer or psoriasis,
* have recently had surgery, or
* have to take frequent courses of antibiotics'
So, unless your daughter has a cut or abrasion the risk to her is minimal. Actually, local papers thrive on scare stories - possibly the infected student hasn't been at school for a few days anyway?
Try not to worry too much. Kisses.
My nursey wife says there is less cause to worry than you might think. She endorses slow learner's response. Me, I can see why you are pissed at the school, but I still would say not to snatch her out.

I'm sure that when it's time to trim the budget, cleaning a little less frequently looks pretty attractive. Tell them to "do the math."
