This past weekend I went to a family wedding by myself and stayed in a Hotel room by myself.

I went with the goal of meeting at least one new person, male or female single or married it didn't matter I just wanted to meet a new person, more than one person would have been nice too.

It seems that no one mingles any more or maybe they never did and I am just noticing it more.

I walked around the reception hall smiling and even speaking to people but they seem to just think it was odd that a stranger was speaking to them.

This wasn't a back wood wedding with local yokels either.

I was in NYC with people from the public relations field.

I grow weary of people telling me to get out there and meet people when people don't seem to want to get meeted!

Maybe you should come over here where your accent and energy would make you a bit of a star :o)

Keep trying!

I think it was just the people that were in attendace. I've always heard New Yorkers were snobs.

You should come to Florida with the rest of the New Yorkers, then you can meet a Southern Gentleman!
